Ron raised an eyebrow. “Snogging in dark corners? You’d like that, wouldn’t you?” Yes, the idea was certainly appealing. However, the secrecy would be tricky. He wasn’t sure how well he could pull it off. Still, if it meant having George…
He opened his mouth to accept, then hesitated. After a pause, he shook his head. “I… George, I don’t think I can do that,” he told his brother miserably. “I’ve never been good at lying; I can’t keep secrets… And the stress! I mean, I’d do anything for you… but I can’t do this.” I can’t put your happiness at risk. Maybe being with Ron would make George happy immediately. But for once in his life, Ron was looking at the big picture. This would ruin his brother’s life. He couldn’t do that to him.
He blinked back tears. Let George think Ron didn’t love him enough. He didn’t have to know the reasoning. It would be easier if he didn’t.
He stepped forward and kissed George again, then turned his back and ran for the common room, tears coursing down his cheeks.
(ooc: gah this is as bad as a soap opera. x’D U MAD GEORGE?)
